Middle School Farm Camp

This opportunity will support students in experiential and integrated learning that focuses on specific middle school math and English Language Arts learning targets, and hands-on experiences through one of our community partners; The Flying Pig Farm. The goal of this program is to offer middle school students a camp-like experience while engaging them in deep and meaningful learning opportunities with experienced teachers.

Our program will run for two weeks, Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. beginning Monday, July 19th, and ending Thursday, July 29th. Daily lunch options will be provided by the district. We will be hosting students both on our high school campus, and next door at the Flying Pig Farm. Each day students will meet with teachers beginning on campus and will alternate throughout each day through learning sessions focused around integrated math, English and Language arts, and experiential farm learning. This experiential learning includes garden and plant growing and harvesting, learning about bee-keeping, tending and learning about our farm animals that include goats, ducks, and chickens, and designing and creating crafts and projects built around sustainability and support of our beloved farm.
