Camp Invention 2019
Are you searching for that hands-on, educational experience to give your child an extra boost during the summer? Well, look no further! Camp Invention 2019 is now open for enrollment for the July 22nd-26th camp week at MSES. Last year’s camp was a huge success, hosting sixty student participants from Kindergarten through 6th Grade, four instructors, five high school Leadership Interns, and six middle school Leaders In Training (previously CITs). This year’s theme looks to be just as high energy! It highlights 54 world-changing inventors, all inductees into the National Inventors Hall of Fame and the science behind their inventions, with stories of perseverance, collaboration, and creativity. There will be more than 15 take-home products from the creative and innovative activities that students engage in throughout the week. And, as always, we will have water games to cool down during our outside time.
Here are some Supercharged highlights of this year’s modules:
Creative Problem Solving: Children team up to rebuild ships and design underwater equipment in Deep Sea Mystery™.
STEM Application: In DIY Orbot™, participants explore circuit boards, motors and gears as they design a remote-control bot to take on obstacles from sports to dance.
Innovation: Children collaborate with inventor superheroes and take on roles of engineers, fabricators and innovators to conquer villains in Innovation Force™.
Confidence: Kids become successful entrepreneurs in Farm Tech™, as they code bots to turn a polluted wasteland into a money-making machine and create devices to save animals.
