Mustang Parent Connection - Understanding Self-Injuring Behaviors

Join the PHC in the Manitou Springs District Auditorium at Manitou Springs Elementary for "Understanding Self-Injuring Behaviors and How to Help our Children."  5:30pm-6:30pm.

Student self-harming is one of the most perplexing and challenging behaviors facing schools and parents today.  In 2018, it was estimated that approximately one in four teen girls deliberately self-harmed with cutting.  This number is on the rise among children up to the age of 18. Lauren Eckhart, Director of Clinical Services at Cedar Springs Hospital, will explain self-harming, the common causes, the signs and symptoms to look for, and constructive and empowering ways to respond and help children with this behavior to include effective treatments and provide additional helpful resources.

You may join by Google Hangout link and that link will be provided by Jane Squires from the PHC after you enroll.  Please email Jane Squires at for more information.
