Lego Robot Challenge

Lego Robot Challenge - prerequisite - Intro to Competitive Robotics - Skill Building  (Fall- Thursdays)

"We invite you to come join the 4th, 5th and 6th grade competitive robotics! It is an exciting, rigorous and satisfying opportunity to be a part of this FIRST Robotics competitive event!

Do you want to: Be on a team that goes all the way to a Lego League competition? Build a NEW! Spike Prime robot with a team that will be presented to judges? Build league exclusive interactive lego sets?

You will get hands-on coaching from the team of coaches and mentors to learn:

To program the NEW! Spike Prime Robot to accomplish chosen missions on the field for competition.

How to utilize your skills to be a part of a team.

How to earn points at the competition.

How to work as a team using Lego core values to generate ideas, accomplish tasks and achieve goals you set.

The rules for this year's challenge and the competition.

How to present your ideas and robot to judges.

This commitment is not only to your team but to yourself. YOU will advance your skills to be apart of this 2-3 month long project!  We meet 1x times a week, for Skill Building and 1x per week for project work. Continuous attendance is very important to Team Success!

Each team will: Create, build, problem solve, and present what you've learned. Research and create a solution to a real world problem for this years challenge, “Masterpiece”, where you will imagine and innovate new ways to create and communicate art across the globe. This will become a project that is presented to the Judges on competition day. Give a  5-minute presentation at the competition. Take their robots to the test at the competition table to compete against other teams from all over the area at the First Lego League Competition. Have 1 committed parent volunteer to be with the team at the all day event. Have required transportation to the event in Fountain.

We hope you will join us for this fun and adventure!

Possible note based on funding:

There will be an additional $15 fee to MSES Robotics for Season t-shirts that is payable to the front office by Aug. 30.
